Regardless, Andrew Jackson now had the job and had to deal with Civil War Reconstruction – no easy task. It didn’t take long for this stubborn accidental President to make a lot of political enemies, but one stands out above the rest – activist Frederick Douglass. And even though they only met once, their worlds would collide over and over with their own beliefs of what should be done, and how quickly!
