What happened when my special guest today, Jaime Kowal, went on a family trip to Palm Springs in 2013? She followed her intuition, of course, and bought a run-down apartment building and transformed it into the wildly successful boutique hotel, The Amado Inn and, later, developed more boutique accommodations in that town including The Junipero, The Ferg and The Wilk.
