Nelson, was awarded the National Humanities Medal Award by President Obama in 2015 and is a consummate storyteller and artist. Crack explores the 80's, how crack eviscerated communities and families and encouraged new legislation that would find its most vulnerable target: black men. An exploration into hip hop culture, the music scene and how urban centers provided the backdrop for a multi billion crime spree that went as high as the Presidency of the United States.
