Message: David pens reflection and restoration when encountering evil. He is humbled by fasting and healed through prayer. Christ calls us to fast for a deeper relationship with God, in secret appearing normal, as it is not an affliction of the soul, but an act of obedience to allow ourselves to clearly hear Him and receive His rewards. Biblical humility is believing what God says about you over anyone else, even yourself. A fast is chosen by God to reach you, to break chains. Dedicated prayer and fasting focuses our reliance on God for strength, provision and wisdom by laying down distractions. Fasting creates a new cup for receiving a newness of life, preserving both.
