There is a trendy idea that we wear these “masks” to fit in, be seen a certain way, and feel accepted and loved. It’s an easy visualization but one that can oversimplify what’s really happening. In reality, there is a vision we all hold of the person we want to be and sometimes we need to adapt ourselves in different scenarios to cast that vision onto others. From that lens, we have an opportunity to asses if that is valuable to us, or if we’d rather show up exactly as we are.
