Douglas Robbins Episode 2 – Resiliency
Manage episode 337584306 series 2815404
Douglas Robbins discusses how he grew into resiliency and became better through evaluated life experiences. The old adage of “sticks and stones might break my bones, but words can never hurt” has proven false. Many lives are adversely affected because of words said to or about us, and those words can sometimes be a major setback. Resilience is the ability to continue to get up when we are down. Douglas deftly uses the example of a young infant who gets upright after falling. They are too young to know they cannot get up. Unlike some people with life experience, we have sometimes been told we cannot do something. Resilience is the ability not to accept that. We get up and move onward.
