Menopause. 50% of the population will go through it at some stage in their lifetime & women with either perimenopause or menopause will experience many symptoms. These symptoms can be anything from hot flushes, night sweats, muscle & joint aches, emotional & hormonal changes & much more. The current awareness, diagnosis & treatments for menopause are quite honestly shocking. We need to do better.
My guest today knows this all-too-well. Being a registered nurse & practising dietitian & having been through an extremely difficult diagnosis herself, she’s now on a mission to help educate others about menopause & help not only the women going through it but also the support network around them, providing them with the knowledge & the tools to help these women in what is otherwise a very overlooked part of their lives. We’ll also chat about the link between coeliac disease, a gluten free diet & menopause.
