Joining via zoom from San Diego, CA, is Megan Zuzevich. Megan is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), EMDR trained, and specializes in Trauma & EMDR. Megan comes from a Law Enforcement family and spent some time working in correctional facilities.
Megan discussed the benefits of working with a Coach instead of your traditional therapist, even as a LMFT herself, for the past 6 years. If you are looking for more information regarding what coaching looks like and the different routes too healing, this is the podcast for you.
Megan talked about the challenges of going through insurance to work with a therapist and the liability that comes along with it. Insurance companies are for profit looking out for themselves, only reimburse certain things, and don't look our for the best interest of the first responder/service member. There are a lot of challenges that go into traditional therapy, which is a benefit of working with T.O.C. Coaches such as Megan.
